The image made primarily of a soft background and a harsh/strong foreground follows this same principles both for subject and composition. The composition; though not straight forward, has a power which only geometry can give. The strong sharp line of the Horizon is perfectly balanced by the bold and vertical figure on the foreground. The bold colours of the figure give focus and defenition to the image while the soft blury elements on the background balance out this clear and distinct element leaving the viewer to wonder in a dream like situation. Also, the image is elegantly subdivided in a grid subtly following the rule of thirds.
The image composed of just four elements (a base, a flock of Birds, a Cloud and a figure) is in its simplicity picturing a concept which to the eyes of the viewer may appear stronger than the actual image, and this demonstrates the ability of the artist to go beyond technique, and to reach deep inside the viewer's mind and feelings.
I can't really critique the image from a technical point of view, as I'm relatively new to photography, however I can cleary say that according to me the image is beautiful, and though very humble in elements, it is still very strong in concept, and these are the things which make it a tremendously good picture.
